Overview

Module 2 will describe moral injury in cultural and developmental contexts. Contemporary professionals encounter clients from diverse national and international (immigrants and refugees) communities, and ranging in age from infancy to late adulthood. We use the case of women from Ghana to illustrate the cultural shaping of morally injurious events and experiences. We use the case of youth involved in the foster care system to illustrate the developmental shaping of moral injury. Are there cultural and developmental factors that result in unique vulnerabilities to moral injury?
