Step 1

Set up Your Canvas Profile: Creating a profile is a good way to signal the importance of community and presence in online courses. If you haven't done so in Canvas, review the following resource Links to an external site. to create your profile.

If you're new to online teaching, we recommend that you read "Building from Content to Community," Download "Building from Content to Community,"

a nice overview of online pedagogical principles.

Canvas Questions?

A Note on Navigating Canvas: Chrome is the common browser recommendation. Basic Canvas navigation among pages/resources isn't always intuitive. One common practice is to return to the Home page from wherever you are in the site and navigate from there to where you want to be. More on this throughout the seminar.
