Accessible From The Beginning

As said on the previous page, it's important to include accessibility from the very beginning of your course design. Because the idea of building accessible courses may be relatively new to you, the next few pages will be of documents provided by Canvas on how to design your course accessibly.

In order to view these resources within Canvas, you may need the latest version of Java Links to an external site. or you may need to adjust your browser privacy settings Links to an external site.. If you are using Google Chrome or are otherwise unable to view the resources in Canvas, you can click the page title for each resource to open the resource in a new tab outside of Canvas or you can use the links below to access the resources.

After these pages, we'll begin discussing how you can use UDOIT to check your work.

Additional Accessibility Guides

While the guides provided in this resource should cause you to address the most common accessibility issues. The standards below can help you address most if not all additional issues your course (or product) may have. Of these standards, we recommend that you focus on WCAG 2.0 A and AA, which is often referenced in lawsuits that involve digital technology.
