Reaction Paper 1# on “Last Child in the Woods”

This paper will be a three to four page paper that will cover your reaction to Richards Louv’s Book, Last Child in the Woods: Saving our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder. Use the book for the bases or foundation of the paper and build your argument(s) around your world view. No need to go into great depths of retelling the stories in the book. What factors or issues do you see in your world that support Louv's hypothesis?  Identify two or more of his seven basic premises, describe it and provide alternative points of view if appropriate. If you have shared the book with other, do they agree with the premises? What role has technology played in Louv’s 3^rd frontier? How does biophilia and videophilia play out in your life? Where does Louv feel that environmental education fits in? What role do educators, parents and society play with the future outcomes of NDD? Based on this book, “If I Were King” what would I do?

Again, the book covers a broad range of issues and challenges to NDD. Select the ones that seem to connect best or challenge you and try to describe it and share your insights from your point of view.
