OER Adoption: The Workshop Strategy
Whether you are new to open education or a seasoned open ed leader, you know that helping faculty learn more about, and ultimately choose, open education takes a lot of work. While there is no one-size-fits-all structure for successful open education programs, our strategy for engaging faculty with OER adoption offers you a way to educate, engage, and empower faculty on your campus.
This strategy invites faculty attendees to explore a book in the Open Textbook Library after they have attended an Introduction to OER Adoption workshop. They are then invited to write a review of a textbook.
This strategy is fully described and demonstrated in the following sections. By watching the videos and customizing your own Introduction to OER Adoption slide deck Links to an external site., you'll have an effective tool to add to your open education strategy.
As a member, you also have the option to invite an OEN presenter to your campus to deliver this workshop, to help you get the ball rolling, and to serve as an example as you begin to lead your own local workshops. Learn more here, and be sure to register for the Train-the-Trainer sessions at our annual OEN Engage! event, happening from July 22-26, 2024 to learn how to deliver these workshops to your faculty.
