South Africa is a country located on the southern tip of Africa. It has a population of over 59 million people and is known for its cultural diversity and beautiful landscapes. South Africa’s largest trade union conglomerate Cosatu has welcomed the relief provided by finance minister Enoch Godongwana to help with gas prices. Gas prices have skyrocketed in South Africa like many other places in the world causing many people not to be able to afford gas. This relief system will lower prices so citizens can afford gas again until the prices drop.  According to https://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/western-cape/over-12-million-middle-class-south-africans-want-to-study-overseas-recent-survey-shows-da176a7f-0580-4f18-92df-2eded2b6149c Links to an external site. many South Africans are wanting out of their home country. A recent poll stated that over 1.2 million middle-class South Africans want to study overseas. Right now there are 12,000 studying overseas. Another pole concluded that 27% of adults want to emigrant to another country in the next 5 years. Also, 48% of people under 25 want to move as soon as possible. There is a lot of unemployment in South Africa making it really hard to get a job. Getting an American degree can set them apart from others trying to get a job. The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for heavy rain in Gauteng. The thunderstorm is predicted to cause flash floods on majors roads that could cause major traffic jams. Travelers are told to drive with extra caution due to slippery roads. South Africa is one of the more developed parts of the country with some of the most visited places in Africa. The country makes a lot of income from tourists. With summer coming soon hopefully gas prices will be lower by then for people to travel around the country.
