Safe Walk is a free program run by Greek Life and the Office of Transportation where members of the UMD community will accompany students on campus to their destination. The parameters of Safe Walk include anywhere on campus and within a one-mile radius from campus.
Safe Walk is available every day during the academic term from 8:00 PM until 12:00 AM (midnight).
To request the service call (218)726-6100 and state your pick up and drop off location. Two students (one male and one female) will arrive at your location within 5-10 minutes.
The Duluth Transit Authority (aka the Duluth public bus system) is free to use for UMD students - just use your student ID. Access the DTA from campus at the Bus Hub (Kirby Plaza by the street level bookstore).
UMD Student Association has partnered with Lyft to provide students discounted rides. This program was created to provide students with practical, safe, and reliable transportation around the Duluth area for students at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
