Note of Encouragement

If publishing is new to you, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • There are lots of ways to publish. You can decide what's possible based on your context.
  • You can always change how you do things for the next project.
  • Making a book is a creative endeavor and therefore may involve a lot of subjective decisions.
  • Go easy on yourself, especially if you're new at this.
  • Try to seek collaborators who can work with uncertainty, especially in the beginning.
  • Take a break when you need to.
  • It's not a life or death situation, even when it may feel that way.
  • Deadlines are (usually) meant to be broken in publishing.
  • Ask others for help when you need it.
  • You're not alone!
