You'll also find a bit of background information about what this course is, why we created it, and how you can succeed in it. Please make sure to read it carefully!
How to Get Started
Ready to dive in? The online portion of this course is divided into five modules. Each module spans two weeks. How you spend your time is up to you, but you'll have two different deadlines for each module. Specific deadlines are listed in the introduction of each module.
- The second Friday, the module's required readings must be completed and your initial discussion post is due.
- The second Sunday, your discussion response and an Action Plan activity are due.
One exception is Module 5, which has two activities. Activity: Meet With Leadership involves interviewing your institution's dean or director (you can also include your supervisor). It can be difficult to schedule a meeting with busy administrators, so please set this up and get it on their calendar right away. This activity will be due April 30, but you can work on it anytime.
You can work ahead in the course. If you know you have a really busy time coming up, start on the next module early. If you do work ahead, it's important to loop back to the current module's discussion. In order to have a robust conversation, we need everyone to be actively involved.
