Project Symposium, Implementation, & Continuing the Conversation
Project Symposium
We are excited for everyone to share their proposed open educational practices projects with the rest of the cohorts. This helps to not only "make real" the plan you've been working on for three months but also provides ideas for other cohort members and gives everyone an opportunity to ask questions and engage in our community of practice.
About the Project Symposium
Each pair of partners will sign up to present Links to an external site. for one 30 minute slot on April 9th and 10th and to attend and engage with a minimum of two other presentations (You may attend as many as you like, of course!). OEP project presentations will occur over Zoom and will take no more than 20 minutes. There will then be 10 minutes for questions and transition to the next presentation. This is a time to really celebrate what you have accomplished thus far and to eagerly look ahead to curricular transformation and student engagement in the spring!
Project Implementation
As you know, you will be implementing your projects in the fall if possible, and during this time, you may have occasional check ins with your instructor and cohort. Upon conclusion of the project implementation, we will conduct assessment of the overall program, your project and its implementation, and your plans for moving forward to implement open educational practices. We hope you will share the details of your project, student work product, etc. with other educators via the Open Pedagogy Portal Links to an external site.. In case you have questions that the submission form Links to an external site. does not address, please feel free to reach out to the OEN's Open Educational Practices Specialist Jamie Witman at witma008@umn.edu.
Continuing the Conversation
Do you want to continue conversing with the people in the course? If so, please use this Discussion Forum for Continuing the Conversation (unlinked for public version).
Thank you! We appreciate your time, enthusiasm, and commitment to a more equitable education for all students!
