nks to an external siteElectric cars now outnumber gas-powered cars in Norway:
While the margin is small, statistics provided by the Norwegian Road Federation show that EVs now outnumber gas cars in the country, and they predict the gap will continue to grow. 9 out of 10 new vehicles sold are EVs, and it is easy to see why. With many government incentives, it is no surprise that EVs are favored by Norwegian citizens. Taxes and tolls are waived in many places for EVs and many places offer free parking. With these reasons in mind, it’s a no-brainer for Norwegians to buy EVs, and they gain the added benefit of helping the environment.
One downside to this positive news is how the Norwegian government is able to provide these incentives to its citizens. Norway is one of the world’s largest exporters of oil, and this provides the money for the government to give back to its citizens as incentives. So while oil is phasing out of use in cars in Norway, it is still an important part of the economy.
