- As with the other chapters from the textbook, pay attention to the Cultural Metaphor of Canada and of Australia. Be sure to look at and understand all of the parts of the metaphor, and how they reflect their respective countries. Keep your eyes open to "other ways to see the world" when it comes to Canada and Australia.
- When you are finished reading these two chapters, you should understand the metaphor and its parts, and be able to explain Canadian and Australian cultures in terms of their metaphors to someone who might be considering taking this course next term. Also start thinking about how Canada and Australia might appear in the Midterm Exam. Ask yourself for each of the countries/cultures, "From the point of view of understanding Global Cultures, what are the three most important things to take away from these chapters?" Why?
