GC 01 Greetings! A Pre-Term Memo about the Textbook s2025

Pre-term
GC Memo: Textbook

Pre-term Memo 1

Happy Boxing Day . . . a very important holiday in England and the rest of the UK!

Hi! This is Tim Roufs–we are off on a good adventure!

Ordering the Textbook Soon!

This message is to welcome you to the class and remind you to get the textbook. Classes officially start on Wednesday, the 15th of January 2025. It's time to order your textbook.

The textbook is an essential part of class containing case studies, theoretical and methodological information, and more, all conveniently organized around the theme of "Cultural Metaphors". During this semester, you will need to read, comprehend, analyze, interpret, and synthesize examples found in the textbook with your personal experiences and knowledge. You will use this information to write discussion posts, and both midterm and final exam essays. And this information will also be essential in anchoring your personal research project to the materials of the course.

All that is to say–I highly recommend you order the textbook soon; see Step 4: Getting Started Module. The textbook is a vital part of this course!
