GC 02 Two New Years
Have a Look at What's in Store for the New Year . . .
Here in Duluth, and in much of the world, we start the New Year on Wednesday.
Most of the rest of the world, those that follow the Lunar Calendar (often known as "The Chinese Calendar"), will catch up on the 29th of January when they celebrate the Lunar ("Chinese") New Year Links to an external site..
This year they celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake.
The color red and the number 2 are thought to bring good luck and fortune during The Year of the Wood Snake--at least to those "born snakes". And orchids and cacti are their lucky plants. And summer will be their luck season.
If you are celebrating New Year's on Wednesday, your first lucky object for 2025 will be the class Syllabus for your Global Cultures Class.
Have a look at the syllabus and give it a try, and if you have any questions, or suggestions, please let us know at troufs e-mail.
In between the playoff games this week, have a look at the Syllabus. It could bring good fortune to you in 2025.
Your second lucky object for 2025 will be your textbook for the class.
Order your textbook soon; see Step 4: Getting Started Module, and become familiar with the course by reviewing the whole Module.
You will soon want to do so you can review the syllabus, set up your course notifications, become familiar with student support services and technology help options, and acquire the textbook and become familiar with other reading sources.
In the meantime, for those of you celebrating this week, HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR!
Best Regards,
Tim Roufs
