Course Materials:

How student may find their course materials online:

  1. Students will log into MyU
  2. Click the ACADEMICS tab. Their class schedule appears in the MY CLASSES tab.
  3. Click the Textbooks/Course Works UMD link near the top. This link imports a student's class info, making finding materials quick and easy.
  4. Students will then be prompted to the Canvas Course Works tab, where all of the student's textbooks will be posted. Students may opt for one of three options when deciding to purchase textbooks.
    1. Course Works Complete is a one-time fee per semester that covers all textbook costs with one price.
    2. Course Works Select is an a la carte-style of choosing textbooks where students pick and choose which textbooks they will purchase through UMD.
    3. Opting out removes students from these options, where the student must find materials from an outside source.
  5. Once a student chooses their Course Works option, they will receive an email when textbooks are ready to be picked up (around Winter Welcome Week). Digital materials will be available through the Canvas Course Works tab throughout the semester.
  6. If the student has opted in for Course Works, the charges will appear on their student account at the same time as tuition and other fees.

Students have the option to pick up their physical textbooks in person or have them shipped. Fill out the Course Works Shipping Form Links to an external site., though note there is a $15 shipping fee on all orders.

With Course Works, students are automatically opted in for Course Works Complete, however students may opt out before the deadline of January 30th. Course materials will be available for students to view December 30th. To learn more about Course Works, including pricing, dates, and general information, visit the Course Works page. If you have questions, visit the FAQs page and tune in to theDish Webinar.
