The Four Colleges of UMD
The University of Minnesota Duluth has dozens of degrees spread out between four different colleges with specific focuses. You may have entered with your first choice major or your second choice major depending on your program requirements. If you enter UMD as an undeclared major, that is completely normal and the path many of our students take! Academic advisors in your college will guide you to find the right path. College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences (CAHSS)
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences fosters an open intellectual environment where faculty, staff, and students pursue inquiry through wide-ranging research, scholarship, and creative activity. With 37 majors, 31 minors, and four certificate programs from ten academic departments, we help students interpret the past, understand the present, and shape the future.
College of Education and Human Service Professions (CEHSP)
We're a college full of folks committed to making a difference in the lives of others and promoting the advancement of the human service professions. In CEHSP, we seek to advance ideals of equity and sustainability, partnering with our students to build a more just future with our 20+ majors and minors!
Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE)
We teach our students to think critically and analytically - to question the answers as much as they answer the questions. We push them. We prepare them. Our graduates are leaders in business, management, marketing, finance, accounting, management information sciences, and economics with 16 majors and 16 minors to customize your professional skillsets.
Swenson College of Science and Engineering (SCSE)
A Swenson College major offers interactive learning, internship, and research opportunities to all of its students. As students engage in their programs, they'll have the ability to personalize their studies from our 21 majors and 18 minors. In SCSE, students can build their academic and personal foundation toward employment, graduate programs, or professional school in Dentistry, Optometry, Pharmacy, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine.
