ABS Printing
Quick Print from Filament Profile
- In Cura, go to ‘File’ then ‘Open Profile’
- Go to ‘Documents’ then ‘3D Print’ then ‘Filament Profiles’ then select ‘ABS-285-ultimaker-MR.ini’ and click open.
- Change settings as needed, note that the default ABS profile is 2.85mm diameter
Full Settings
- Print Temp = 245 C
- Bed Temp = 115 C
- Suggested: use a brim (10 line) with 20% infill
- In Advanced tab:
- Quality
- Initial layer line width (%) = 150
- Speed
- Bottom Layer Speed (mm/s) = 10
- Cool
- Uncheck “Enable Cooling Fan”
- Print with Enclosure front ON
- *Watch out for front of build area interference
Filament Change
Use hotter of 2 nozzle temps (eg. for changing from ABS to PLA, use 245C to push out ABS until PLA comes through)
Change settings on Cura to match your desired filament (be sure to check nozzle and bed temperature!)
Removal of Print
Bed temp to ~55C if you have trouble removing.
PLEASE CLEAN BED after removal using the Isopropyl Alcohol and kimwipes.
