When I finally got to the University of Minnesota, I knew that this was the right place for me to further my academic studies. For me, university was of course about the academic challenges and successes, however it was also about so much more than that. I had heard so many unfortunate stories of both people I know and individuals I don’t know, who had chosen to invest in university and found themselves in an environment where they were offered little to no support to get through the experience. I obviously did not want that for myself, so I made a point to be absolutely and unapologetically diligent in my research.
That is how I ended up here at the University of Minnesota. Being a full time university student is a challenging experience, of course, however it is also an experience that has come with so many more rewards than I could ever have imagined. This place has truly lived up to the expectation. In fact, in many ways it has far exceeded every expectation that I have ever had surrounding what I wanted and needed from my higher education experience. All too often, students of any and all calibres find that they are not supported by their chosen school. For me, it was entirely the opposite experience. It still is. And I am so thankful.
The support in the classroom
Of course, the primary goal of university (and education in general) is to offer support and understanding in the classroom. The University of Minnesota well and truly gives me all the support that I could possibly ever need in the classroom. Whether it is asking the questions I need to ask to get complete clarification or getting the right feedback to better myself and my academic standards (just to name a few examples among the many out there), the point is always the same. That point is that this is a place where I know my lecturers and tutors genuinely care. This is so important.
The support in myself
Sometimes, the stresses of the process can get to even the best students. This place supports me personally as well as academically and I will forever be grateful. Without a doubt, one of the biggest and best parts of going here is that if I need extra advice or feedback on assessments, it is given to me with ease and reliability (and when I just want to veg out for an afternoon and give my heart, mind, and soul a little break, I can always find some kratom for sale to get me through the challenging moments).
The support in my future
This place has given me all the support in the world - and then some. I feel so well prepared to step into my career after graduation that it feels kind of surreal. There is a lot of power in investing in processes and systems that are going to give me the best chance of moving forward in a happy and healthy way. The University of Minnesota has well and truly achieved this notion - and continues to today.
