Like so many other students around the globe, when I approached the decision to either invest the time into committing to further education beyond high school or choose another path, I was really uncertain of how I was going to approach the decision itself and how I was going to go make the choice. Up until not too long ago, my relationship with not only education but the notion of study itself was one that was very much intrinsically linked with the feeling that study was something that was an inconvenient notion that took up time that I would much prefer being able to spend on other things that were important to me.

And then, seemingly overnight, things changed. All that changed when I started attending the University of Minnesota. When I finally made the decision to pursue a higher education university degree, I was quite conflicted with the notion, still being uncomfortable with the idea that study was going to be a massive part of my experience. While I wanted to do well and happily embrace study, the simple fact is that I found it challenging to be able to commit to a study regime of any kind in order to be able to function and thrive in my studies. However, the University of Minnesota truly did change all of that for me.

I used to think of study as an annoying task

Studying has always been a task that has felt more frustrating than useful in the moment for me. When it came time to make my decision regarding higher education and my enrollment in any particular program, it really came down to the fact that why I may not have enjoyed the notion of study that much, it was vital to the trajectory I was taking two with my future. I knew that I had to commit to further studies for my chosen career to be able to function and drive and for that reason I chose to not in the enrol in university but to try and do everything I could to shift my mindset from thinking of study as annoying cast of thinking of it as a pathway to a fruitful future but I was excited about.

The University of Minnesota transformed my outlook on study

And when my outlook on study entirely transformed, it really came down to the support that the university gave me. this is a university that really took the time to introduce me to not only higher education itself but all of the concepts and ideals that came hand in hand with higher education and allowed me to fine tune my relationship with study. I was given support not only in the classroom but in extra curricular programs and ideals, and for that reason the University of Minnesota was able to positively transform my approach to study into one that became a habit but I was happy to keep up because I knew it was going to leave me to the future that I wanted.

The University of Minnesota is a truly special place

Here, I have found my ideal approach to study. I enjoy it now. And I largely have the University of Minnesota to thank for this. These days, I revel in my study sessions because I know that I am able to function and thrive academically while also engaging in the hobbies that I love like streaming sports, reading, free diving, and adventuring in my spare time. I finally struck that perfect work and life balance and it is one that has been made possible largely through the ongoing support and infrastructure that was put in place by the University of Minnesota. The University of Minnesota is truly a special place and I will always be immensely thankful.
