I am close to graduating from the University of Minnesota after four years as a full time university student. Any fresh university graduate can tell you that it can be quite a jarring experience to suddenly find yourself graduated with a degree but not exactly sure how to step into this new stage of your life. I can say with full confidence that this was thankfully not my experience. In fact, my experience has proven to be quite the opposite. My time at the University of Minnesota taught me many valuable lessons, both in and out of the lecture theatres and tutorial workshops.
Now, I am excited to step into my career and I feel like I am more than prepared to do so. Of course, there are the inevitable little feels of nervousness and the like, but overall I am just excited to finally kick start my career after spending the last four years in an environment that I genuinely feel prepared and supported me in every way. The University of Minnesota is a place that truly values every point that any higher education school should while also understanding and supporting the values of the students who learn under its umbrella.
The university that does it all (and then some)
All the tools for success have been embedded into the experience at this campus. I not only had great classes and tutorial workshops because I also had the good fortune to have access to a wide array of university and industry networking events. These events have proven to be priceless as they introduced me to the setting of my chosen industry while giving me an informal way to find my footing and interact with industry professionals before having even graduated (an incredible advantage that I will always be thankful for). But that isn’t all.
The university that supports its students
From ensuring that we all understood the support services offered on campus or through campus (whether it be study groups or psychologists, to name a few examples of the many services available to us) or the third party products and services that assisted us in alleviating some of the stresses of a full course semester (think time management workshops or popular essay writing services, for instance and to name just a few examples), the University of Minnesota understands the power of being and fully embodying a campus that is supportive not only academically but individually.
The university that understands the bigger picture
Success comes hand in hand with happiness. That is to say that ultimately, it is fundamentally important to understand that there is a bigger picture that surrounds the concept and ideal of success. Being happy is the best way to be passionate and have genuine love for what you do, which in turn creates more success. As we all know, you do your best work when it is work that you genuinely love. The University of Minnesota understands this profound truth and so it functions and thrives on this basis - a true testament to its strong moral compass and care for everyone involved in the university in any capacity.
