The University of Minnesota Twin Cities is one of the most prestigious public research universities in America, and for a good reason. Today, I am going to share with you a recount of my positive experience as a student at U of M. If you’re someone who’s considering applying, maybe this will convince you to seal the deal!

Campus Diversity

One of the first things I'd like to talk about is the impressive degree of diversity I saw on campus. The United States is a melting pot of culture, and there's no better place to prove it than the U of M! When I first stepped onto campus, I was shocked to see so many people hailing from different ethnicities from around the world.

To be precise, there are 130 nations represented on campus, a statistic I was proud to see. Travel is the best teacher, but, unfortunately, most students cannot afford to go exploring across the continents. So, the next best thing is meeting with people from these nations, and that's exactly what I got a chance to do at the University. Needless to say, I loved every minute of it and learned so much more than I expected to.

If you’re keen on learning about different cultures, religions, and traditions, you’ll enjoy your time at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities immensely.

Academics and Professors

Without a doubt, the most important reason why people opt to go to University is to gain academic experience. Personally, I felt like the quality of education was adequate and can help you land a decent job after you complete your studies.

There are many excellent professors under whom I enjoyed learning. I can’t speak for everyone, but the lecturers who taught me were very well-read and understanding. They were always willing to help me broaden my horizons and helped me tackle any problems I was facing. One potential downside is the large class size, though, which means you’ll have to work slightly harder to stand out amongst the sea of students.

The University itself works very hard to make things flow smoothly and to produce qualified and resourceful graduates. The admin is understanding and cooperative, which was refreshing to see.

I also really liked how helpful the TAs were. Never once did I feel afraid or anxious when conversing with them.

Mental Health and Support

These days, activists are working hard to make sure the general public understands the importance of mental health and counselling. I was extremely pleased to see that the University has many mental health resources, a dedicated advising office for students and teachers who needed help in tackling the issues they were facing such as taking the right medications and alternative medicines like Kratom capsules.

Students can also find assistance if they need to discuss other important topics like career guidance or academic difficulties. Overall, the University’s environment was supportive and encouraging, which is one of the reasons why I enjoyed my time there.
