My decision to go to university was one that I weighed on heavily before making my ultimate decision. There is a lot to be said about actually taking the time to carefully consider all of your options before jumping into going to any one university. While ultimately, for me it has been a fantastic experience, the fact is that for some people the opposite proves to be true. Ultimately, when it comes down to is you being able to take the time and use your energy to figure out what you actually want. You never want to get to university and realise that you have ended up in the wrong place. There are, of course, different concerns that surround every hopeful student and their decision to enrol in and ultimately go to university. For everyone, these questions are different. For me, the questions were not necessarily the same that everyone else has. Nonetheless, I am grateful that I focused on these questions because I know now that I have found the right place for me at the University of Minnesota.

The biggest concern for me when choosing a university

The biggest concern for me when choosing a university was my safety. This might seem like a strange concern to have, however the unfortunate reality is that feelings of a lack of safety and the like on university campuses around the globe are not at all uncommon. In fact, if anything, there are few universities around the globe and have a steadfast focus on the safety and security of their students and educators. Couple this with the fact that there is a heightened risk of your safety being in jeopardy if you are a female on campus and I was so focused on figuring out which of my top picks were going to actually be able to give me the peace of mind and a sense of safety and security that I need. Going to university should be about embodying your academic integrity, however I also firmly believe that it should be going to a university where you feel safe.

The gap for many universities in student safety

There is a very distinctive gap for many universities around the globe when it comes to student safety. This can mean anything from allowing students to have a clear and open line of access to individuals who have Kratom for sale to having the university campus secured throughout not just night time but 24/7. It might sound strange, however there is a lot of interest and investment from young women in this aspect, especially when approaching the decision to go to university and ensuring that the university that they ultimately choose to go to is one where they know they are going to be safe. For me, the University of Minnesota proved to be this place. I have never once felt unsafe here and I always feel like I have immediate and readily accessible access to individuals who can give me assistance if I ever do feel even remotely unsafe. These are the approaches to students that make a world of difference -  trust me.

The University of Minnesota prioritises safety

So many of my friends who are going to different universities have told me horror stories about not feeling safe doing even the simplest things like walking through the campus they have chosen to go to. It sounds horrible - and it is. For me, however, the University of Minnesota has always felt like something of a safe haven (which, judging from the stories of my friends at other universities, is a rarity).  I know how lucky I am to go to the university that genuinely values the safety and security of its students while also encouraging and valuing academic excellence. This truly is an incredible place and I will always remember my time here - and this university - quite fondly.
