Learning & Development Outcomes:

  • Define urban agriculture and evaluate how it is used to fulfill social, educational, environmental, and economic functions

  • Deepen understanding of the complexity of agricultural ecosystems and food systems within an urban framework, and gain skill in conducting inquiry and investigation of these systems

  • Strengthen oral and written communication skills

  • Become familiar with a range of university and community resources and avenues for participation
  • Gain self-awareness of personal cultural attitudes, values and privileges

  • Gain appreciation of differences and the value of interacting with individuals with backgrounds and/or perspectives different from your own
