(SAMPLE) I’m originally from Wisconsin Rapids, WI (and am a huge Packers fan!).  I crossed the Mississippi to attend Winona State University, where I completed my BA in Communication Studies with a minor in Sociology. Then my husband and I moved to Minneapolis, and I completed my Master's degree and Ph.D. here at the University of Minnesota. My main areas of interest are interpersonal, family, and intercultural communication. My dissertation research focused on how family communication impacts the sexual behavior, beliefs and sexual self-efficacy of young adults.

I have taught Family and Marital Communication, Intercultural Communication: Theory and Practice, Communication and the Intercultural Reentry, and Public Speaking and have also assisted in teaching Introduction to Interpersonal Communication. I have been teaching the online version of Intro to Communication Theory since fall 2010.
