Example #1: Lecture Case Study(synchronous)

Focus

Professor Vandover used Zoom to meet with his students for a 1-hour class session. The class used to meet face-to-face and he'd like to maintain their meeting schedule.  After the meeting, he wants to know how many of his students attended the session.

Review

He logs on to zoom.umn.edu ->Reports to look up usage data to see who attended the session.

Amend

The Zoom reports data showed that 6 out 18 students attended the meeting. Professor Vandover is concerned that other students did not  join the meeting. He decides to send an email to those students who did not attend the meeting to ask how they are doing and find out if they will be able to commit to online synchronous (real-time) meetings ongoing.

Apply

He heard from students that the synchronous meetings are difficult for them to attend for a number of reasons. In response, he decides to upload the recording of the meeting to the Canvas course site using Kaltura video host supported by the university.  He will continue to check in with his students and adjust his approach.
