Module 6 Week 6: (10/5)

Purpose

This module is designed to introduce you to the concept of tolerances, clearances, and interferences that make up the tolerance zone and to start assembly modeling.

Outcomes

After completing this module, you should be able to:

Using tolerance information to understand the minimum and maximum allowable size for a part feature.
Using tolerance information to draw the tolerance zone of a feature.
Create a simple assembly using mates to connect parts in Solidworks.

Assembly Modeling
- where the assembly origin is located
- creating surface mates between parts
- inserting a new part into an assembly
- fix and float parts in an assembly
- flip/switch allignment

- leave no small material left behind when making holes
- use a closed sketch drawing/profile to make an extruded cut

Rollback history, Feature tree > rollback history
- While sketching you can select anything in the feature tree by opening up the drop down menu in the work window
