Publishing Support
There are many ways to publish open textbooks and other OER. We are here to support your publishing efforts in whatever form they may take. Whether you're just thinking about getting started or are well underway, our community and resources are here to help.
Getting Started: Pub 101
Pub101 is an informal orientation to open textbook publishing. It is designed for librarians, instructional designers and other project managers who support faculty in creating openly licensed textbooks. The Pub101 curriculum and hosted sessions provide a helpful overview of what's involved in publishing open textbooks at both the project and program level.
You can participate synchronously in Pub101 (an invitation is shared via the Google Group around the new year), or move through the Pub101 Curriculum asynchronously at your own pace. You can also watch recordings Links to an external site. of the previous year's Pub101 sessions, hosted by thoughtful facilitators who are focused on your needs.
The Pub101 Curriculum is maintained and revised by the Pub101 Committee, a group of experienced library publishers and former Pub101 participants from across the network.
- After completing Pub101, members are invited to join the Publishing Cooperative (Co-op) for ongoing support and community connection, including a dedicated Google Group.
Tea Time
Tea Time is a monthly get together for you to chat about publishing with colleagues who have faced similar challenges. Join us for a hosted conversation around a relevant topic, with time for your questions and stories during "tea and sympathy".
Tea Time typically takes place on the first Monday of the month at 1pm Central. Exact dates, times and Zoom links are listed on the Community Hub events calendar. The series is organized by our Publishing Advisory Group.
