Mycoplasma pneumonia - atypical pneumonia - “walking pneumonia” 

• Doxycycline, Azithromycin (tetracyclines / macrolides)
• Quinolones with macrolide resistance
• Beta-lactams are not effective
• Difficult to prevent because patients are infectious for extended periods of time even during treatment
• Hard to culture so diagnosis involves testing for IgM
