Nepal comes top in South Asia in closing gender gaps:
Recently Nepal has outnumbered “all countries in the region in World Bank’s Women, Business and Law index, but experts say Nepali women continue to face hurdles.” They have achieved a score of 80 out of 100 points towards gender equality. This is a huge step for Nepal to start to take action in such a relevant topic in todays world. There is a large rate of women in Nepal that have been entering themselves into these test to show their ability to be equally with men and have been excelling in them. With such a large gap in between male and female worker the gap is starting to make a close. There is still a slight issue with financial issues but is being improved on. “’Women still lag behind in financial literacy and most of the decisions regarding finances are taken by men either in the family or business,’ Khatiwada said.” Throughout countries like Nepal women typically only have three quarters of the same rights as men. This is a goal that women of Nepal are hoping to change. Cvid-19 has not helped women social and economically throughout this time of trying to improve woman’s image by other men in the country and other countries.
Tiger attacks are up:
Recently there has been a man named Wakil Gaddi who was attacked by a domestic tiger in a state park. He was rushed to the hospital with name wounds to his neck but is still getting support and staying stable. Wakil states “I did not think I would survive when the tiger attacked me. I feel very lucky,” Wakil is not the only person who has recently been attacked by these vicious animals. Dhan Bahadur Chalaune was at Phattepur in Raptisonari and was also attacked. Sadly, Chalaune did not survive the attack. This is not something that is being taken easily in the country of Nepal. Many people are now taking percussions when being outside potentially around animals that could put them or their families in danger.
