Ready.gov is an agency that assists businesses, public agencies, and the public in preparing for emergencies and disasters. The following discussion is based on the course assignment.
Part 1: Initial Post
- Based on the reading/viewing materials, what do you believe is the most important reason for a company/agency to properly plan for emergencies and disasters?
- What are some elements of risk assessment to consider as part of an emergency management plan?
- At what times would the four elements of a Protective Actions for Life Safety be implemented? Provide an example where you experienced an incident and how you could have been better prepared using emergency management principles?
- The template emergency management plan provides some hazard or threat-specific options for emergency plans. Which of these do you believe would be most pertinent or challenging to your organization and why?
