The textbook describes many aspects important to establishing an effective safety management systems and response to hazardous material spills.

Part 1: Initial Post

  1. If a transportation accident results in a person being killed as a direct result of a hazardous material, to whom should the accident reported? What are the impacts and consequences?
  2. What is the most important component of an environmental management system? Discuss the reasons and the potential difficulties if such a component were not in place.
