This module will review real cases, where things went wrong, the impacts, how the process could have been improved, and company risk management principles.  View the Deepwater Horizon Disaster and Love Canal videos on the Playlist, then answer the following questions.  

Part 1. Initial Post

  1. Why do you think these incidents occurred?
  2. How do management goals and philosophy impact the risks of environmental health incidents?
  3. What could have been done differently to prevent these incidents?
  4. Was the response to these emergencies effective? How could it have been improved?
  5. What are the common denominators or differences for these incidents?
