Module 1 Activity: Thinking Ahead to Align Your Open Education Initiative with Your Institutional Strategic Plan

Knowing that there are many competing priorities at each institution of higher education, let's start thinking about the overlap between an open education initiative and your university's strategic plan and mission/vision statements.

Locate a copy of your institution’s strategic plan. If you work in an academic library, there may be plans for both your library and your campus. In addition, your institution may have a vision, mission, and/or values.

Create a Word or Google document showing alignment between key phrases of your institution's strategic plan, mission, vision, strategic objectives, etc. that you can use to make a stronger case for greater institutional support for your open initiative.
