Step 2: Set Up Your Canvas Account & Work Through Canvas Basics

Instructions

Please work through the following steps:

    1. Set up your Canvas Notification Preferences in order to receive timely notifications about course activities to your email or cell phone.

    2. If you haven't already done it, check out How to add a profile picture to my Canvas Account? (Links to an external site.) 

    3. Bookmark the Canvas Student Guides (Links to an external site.). The guides contain all the information you need to use Canvas.  At the start, you should become familiar with how to navigate a Canvas course website (Links to an external site.), how to start a discussion post (Links to an external site.), and how to submit an assignment (Links to an external site.).

      • Note: we'll be learning additional skills as we go along, but it is good to know where the step-by-step guides are located.

    4. If this is your first course using Canvas you may also find it useful to watch this Canvas Overview (Links to an external site.) Links to an external site. video.
