The first step to your better self is to Gain Cage Access.
The second and final step is to visit the Makerspace. We are located in the EFL building that is connected to the BAE building through the basement hallway.

Home Repair Training Series
David (Makerspace Manager) hosts short workshops on home electric, home plumbing, and hydroponics. If you are interested put your name on this this training calendar Links to an external site., or send me a note at schmi071@umn.edu.
Just Flush It! Dang leaky faucet - how much water is that wasting. We are BBE, we don't waste natural resources. Learn plumbing basics in this 2 hour hands on course.
What's a Breaker? Everyone should be able to change a light fixture or replace a broken light switch. Those electricians are expensive and some of what they do is pretty darn simple. This 2 hour workshop will give you those basic skills.
Just Fix it! Do you have a light needing repair. How about a toaster or a broken chair or something that you want to refinish. We can help with that. No workshop - just stop in with your project. You can learn a lot by fixing stuff. We even have some old stuff you can refinish and take home with you!
Just Grow It. So you want to do some gardening. We have a grow space ready for you and David can get you started growing most any time. He also does a basic training on hydroponics. Find a few likeminded BBE/SSM students and schedule a Just Grow it Workshop!
