Instructions
In this course you will need to use Microsoft Project 2019 (abbreviated as MS Project) as a part of the work in your assignments. The first step is to get this software on to your computer. Follow the instructions depending on the type of computer you will be using throughout the course.
Microsoft Windows
Please follow these instructions for Installing Microsoft Project 2019 on Windows.
Note: UMN IT staff does not have access to the product keys you need, the instructions will explain how to obtain your individually created product key from Azure.
Apple Mac
MS Project technically can only run on Windows only systems. To make this work on Mac or other computers, Citrix is needed to run the software on your computer. Citrix is a software that runs software from a remote server that streams what you are doing to your computer. This not only does this mean you need a stable internet connection to run the software, but also different steps and considerations need to be taken when installing software on your computer and also with saving and loading working files.
Install Citrix
The instructions for Installing Microsoft Project 2019 on Mac Computers will guide you through getting Citrix on your computer as well as getting started with accessing MS Project.
Note: All students in the course should be automatically added to the Citrix Active Directory listing to access MS Project. If for any reason you cannot access it send an email to help@umn.edu with the course Program Code and CRN (ex. EXPL 3001), that you are taking the course through CCAPS and to ask for "Citrix Access for Microsoft Project 2019".
Saving and Loading Files
Since MS Project is working off another computer that is streamed to you, the way you load and save files is different from how you would normally use a program. Please follow the instructions for Saving and Loading Microsoft Project 2019 Files on Mac Computers to learn how to save files to your own computer.
