To help start the academic writing process, each member of your PSP Group will find, cite, and annotate one unique peer-reviewed academic source relevant to your group's chosen topic. The purpose of this homework assignment is to gain practice with this important academic skill. Each group member will get feedback from the instructor on their individual draft. You may apply that feedback and use that source to contribute to the group's final Annotated Bibliography.
For your citation and annotation, please do the following:
- Ensure the source is a scholarly and peer-reviewed source.
- Cite the source in APA style.
- Include a link to the source; the instructor can confirm or offer feedback on your citation.
- Identify the overarching perspective of the source is making (5-15 words)
- Include a summary of key insights that further your group's understanding about the topic (75-100 words)
- What are the compelling key points?
- What data or evidence is present in this source that tells the story behind the article?
- Note: This is not the place to give a general report on all the topics discussed in the source, but for you to identify relevant ideas for your group and audience.
- Include an analysis of strengths and weaknesses of the source (50-75 words)
- Consider a few of these aspects:
- Methodology of research (sample size, rigor)
- Year of publication and relevance to your topic
- Potential bias of the researchers, author(s), producer(s), etc
- Inclusivity of different groups of people in the research
